New Captain's message

Club members-I would like to take this opportunity to say how honoured am I to be the Captain of our golf club.

I’m sure that I am known to most of you either through The Bothy, The Caley League or the 37 years that I have been hanging about this place.

Craigie Hill has been a big part of my life and I am pleased to give back to something which has given me pleasure and frustration in equal measure.

I am also delighted to announce that Dave Mitchell, current board member, has agreed to be my Vice Captain.

As we all know our club is in a transition and the unseen work carried out by the Transition Committee cannot be underestimated.

We still have a timescale of years for the Transition to take place and we as members must take as many opportunities as we can to ensure that our golf club survives to the transition.

Helping introduce new members, bringing visitors and playing in competitions are just some of the ways that would help.

Our clubhouse is now doing very well and greater use by our members would also help income generated to the club.

A round of golf on the course recognised as having the best greens in Perthshire followed by a Pauline Burger.

What’s not to like?

I am also very pleased to announce that we have 21 new full members and over a dozen junior members who have joined this year.

I hope they enjoy the facilities that our club has to offer and I look forward to meeting you.

Whilst our Junior Section has lain dormant for several years I would hope, with the assistance of the Board and Club Members, to put in a structure that will give our junior members the best opportunities to maximise their potential.

As you know our club is run and assisted by volunteers and I would again thank them for their continued support and if any member feels that they can assist in any way, even for a few hours, then please get in touch through The Bothy, email or speak to any of the board personally.

So, in closing, I think that everyone here knows the challenges that lie ahead for our club and I know with your continued support that we will meet these challenges.

And finally, have great season and may the golfing gods be with you.

Thank you.

Paul Fagan

Club Captain
