Even more sad news.

Everyone at Craigie Hill will be saddened by the news that our longstanding member and friend Bob Montgomery has passed away after a long illness.

Bob was 78 years old and died in the Tay Ward at PRI. Alongside his lengthy illness he had also contracted the COVID 19 virus .The club passes on it's sincere condolences to his wife Margaret and the flag will remain lowered as our mark of respect.

Bob and his wife Margaret moved to Perth in 1978 and he joined Craigie Hill in 1979/80 and was a great supporter of the club througout the years. Margaret tells us that she recently found a newspaper cutting showing that Bob had scored a net 72 which he was proud of as it was a good score on the day but he had not realised that it was a 36 hole competition!

Bob's favourite hole on the course was the 19th  where he had " Monty's seat" near the bar and if anyone was sitting in it when he arrived they immediately vacated it for him! He really enjoyed socialising at Craigie Hill even after he had stopped playing golf.
