Return to Golf - Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Update

Following the successful return to golf this week, we would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the members patience and compliance with the new Covid-19 Guidelines. We  think everyone will agree it has been a success, magnified by the great weather and condition of the course.

We have however, had queries regarding the next phase and timing, and we take this opportunity to detail them below:-

  • Return of 3 Balls

There have been requests to return to 3 ball slots and whilst the Board would love to do so, and feel there is sufficient distancing to allow this to be done, the Government’s position regarding only 2 households participating in sporting activity is quite clear. There was discussion with regards to allowing the members to police the compliance rules themselves, but it was felt that it would be easier and more manageable to leave it as 2 balls for the moment. It is however the intention to resume 3 and 4 balls, as soon as the Government advice deems it is acceptable.

  • Visitors

Whilst some clubs have allowed visitors to play, the Board wish to stage this return and as such, will from Monday 8th June, allow Member’s "guests" to play the course. The Member’s Guest fee for such will be £15/per round. Payment must be made using either contactless card transactions, or deduction from a Member’s Golf Account - we cannot accept cash at this time!

  • Competitions

There is only one reason that some individuals golf, and that is to play in competitions. Whilst we are unable at present to return to handicap competitions we are intending to put on a "Walk up" Medal on Sat 13th June. The entry fee will be £2. With a proportion of the entries being distributed to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, in each Division, as a sweep. We will not have magic twos. Check the website for more details.

Stay safe and continue to follow our Golfing Covid-19 Guidelines.
