2020 Fixture List

The Club will shortly be publishing the fixture list for the 2020 season and there are one or two changes  to be introduced  to try to generate more entries in our competitions.

For example, we are changing the dates of our Open Competitions. The Seniors Open (again being played off yellow tees ) will be held on Sunday 31st May 2020 which hopefully will encourage more members to play- in particular those who still work during the week and cannot play on a Friday. The Opens are being advertised on Golfempire and the Scottish Golf Union site hopefully resulting in more entries from outwith the club.

Our Gents Open is being changed back to being played on a Sunday-16th August 2020 again hopefully attracting players who cannot play on a Saturday.

In respect of the  match play competitions, we normally have Saturday  qualifiers which are played off the medal tees. Several of these qualifiers will now be played off the yellow tees allowing more members to participate in the competitions. The matchplay stages will also be played off the yellow tees. Some other Saturday competitions will be played off the yellow tees instead of the medal tees.

Other changes include playing the 54 hole stroke play championship over three weekends rather than having all rounds in one weekend.

Early in the season we will be holding a special competition to trial a new course layout for the proposed 9 hole course-this of course will only be a rough layout to give members a feel for the new course layout.

Invitational Texas Scrambles have proved to be popular and we hope to include several throughout the season.
